Help and Care in the Home
For the first time in the territories of Dolneni, Krivogashtani, and Prilep municipalities, an in-home help and care service will be available. This service aims to provide high-quality, professional, and affordable assistance and support through trained caregivers. Its primary objective is to enable users to regain, acquire, or maintain their ability to care for themselves, allowing them to continue living independently in their own homes and within the community.
With the introduction of the Help and Care in the Home service, individuals will receive assistance with basic and instrumental activities, such as washing, dressing, eating, mobility, medical therapy, house cleaning, grocery shopping, and more. This support will be available for up to 80 hours per month for those with reduced functional capacity who cannot fully care for themselves, with the ultimate goal of empowering users to become more self-sufficient.
The service will be offered and available free of charge to individuals with the most severe disabilities, those with a combined highest degree of disability, completely blind individuals, elderly people over 65 years of age, and others with reduced functional capacity who require assistance.
Forty trained and certified caregivers will be providing support to the users to enhance their overall quality of life.
Individuals who wish to become users of this service are required to follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit their family doctor to obtain a filled-in form called "Index Katz."
Step 2: Submit a request to the Center for Social Work in Prilep along with the necessary medical documentation, which is available at the center.
Step 3: Once the documentation is reviewed and approved, potential beneficiaries will be informed about the available support activities provided by the Help and Care service at home.
This initiative is part of the comprehensive social reform undertaken by the government and the relevant Ministry, with financial and logistical support from the World Bank.
