Single financial aid for a newborn
The purpose is to provide for basic financial means for equipment for the first and second newborn child.
It may be obtained by a family/one of the parents of a first or second live born child and adopted children at the age up to one year.
The right to a single monetary assistance for a newborn child shall be realized in cases when the child is first born in the family, or when the child is adopted, in case when a mother gives birth to twins, triplets or more children.
One of the parents, citizen of the Republic of North Macedonia, with permanent uninterrupted residence of at least 12 months on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia until the birth of the child shall be entitled to a right to a single monetary aid for a newborn on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The total average income of the family of the mother, regardless of the basis, in the last three months before filing the application for obtaining the right and during use of the right shall be less than the amount of the minimum net salary determined for the previous year.
One-time financial assistance for a newborn - is not linked to income and is provided by every mother for a first or second live birth.
A one-time payment for a second live birth is 21,055 denars (with increase).
One-time for the first live birth is 5100
Necessary documents for application
The documents shall be submitted within 90 days as of the date of birth of the child/children, and shall be reimbursed as of the date of birth of the child/children.
1. Valid ID card of the mother – submitted for inspection in order to prove the identity, citizenship and permanent residence of the mother, i.e. address of residence/stay if it is different from the one stated in the ID card. If the applicant is the father/guardian of the child, a valid ID card of the mother of the child for inspection, as evidence of the permanent place of residence of the mother, and transcript of Excerpt of the Registry of deaths if the mother is deceased, and a valid ID card of the father/guardian, for inspection and proof of the identity and citizenship; i.e. proof/certificate issued by the Ministry of Interior if from the ID card of the mother, citizen of the Republic of North Macedonia, cannot be established that she has permanent residence of at least 12 months on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia up to the date of birth of the child, i.e. for the father/guardian, if he is the applicant.
2. Mother’s medical booklet and a copy of pages 3, 5 and 7 or certificate from a selected MD-specialist of gynaecology and obstetrics, for the order of birth of the child/children, and for adopted children certificate that the mother does not have first/second live born child.
3. For adopted child – proof of order of adoption of the child/children;
4. Transcript from the Excerpt of the Registry of births for the child/children;
5. Valid ID card of the father – delivered only for inspection in order to prove the identity, citizenship and place of permanent residence (in case when the mother is not a national of the Republic of North Macedonia, and has concluded marriage with a national of the Republic of North Macedonia).
Application for obtaining the right to a single financial aid for a newborn shall be filed for each child individually.
Terms and termination of the right
The Social work centre shall be obliged to adopt a decision in the procedure for realization of the single financial aid for a newborn, within 15 days as of the date of submission of the application accompanied with the relevant documents. After expiry of this term, within 5 days, the applicant of the request shall be entitled to file application for adoption of a decision to the director of the Centre.
The director of the Social work centre shall be obliged, within 5 days of receipt of the application, to adopt decision on admission of the application. The social work centre competent for the area where the mother has permanent residence shall decide upon the single financial aid for the newborn child. The right to a single financial aid for a newborn shall be terminated as of the date of reimbursement, since this is a one-off right.
